Intel Classmate PC

Intel Classmate PC

  What is a classmate PC?

An Intel powered classmate PC is a small, mobile learning assistant and educational solution that Intel specially developed for students in emerging markets. It's a rugged learning device designed to provide affordable, collaborative learning environments.

A classmate PC has been designed as a "tool to think and learn with" with the aim of transforming education. Toward this goal, Intel has devised a platform that meets the needs and goals of different players, namely, students, teachers, parents, school staff, and policymakers, while addressing the pedagogical, technological, social, and physical requirements of school environments.

MOE-Intel School Adoption Project Phase 1

INTRODUCTION

SMART PARTNERSHIPS

During the official launch of the Smart Partnership Program Towards Making All Schools Smart on 24th April 2007, the Minister of Education, Y.B. Datuk Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein stressed that the cooperation of agencies outside the Ministry of Education is a critical success factor in the implementation of the National Education Blueprint.

The National Education Blueprint, which had been launched on 16th January 2007 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.A.B. Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, specifically outlines the need to form smart partnerships with all stakeholders outside the Ministry of Education. This is in view of the fact that education is a broad and complex field close to the hearts of the community because it touches a variety of aspects of their lives.

Washington Parish Schools:
One-to-One Computing for Special Needs Kids in the Wake of Hurricane Katrina

Special-needs students in one of Louisiana’s poorest parishes are receiving a 21st century education, and “regular kids” are clamoring to join their classes. It’s the result of local leadership, fearless teachers, a focus on academic achievement, and interactive classrooms built around technologies from Intel, Detel Computer Solutions, SMART Technologies, and others. In an innovative arrangement inspired by private-sector efforts to assist in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, professional development training is provided by Detel, a Premier Intel® Channel Partner and member of the Hurricane Education Leadership Program (HELP) Team.
